enough of this no-updating madness! i've missed livejournal, honestly i have...so from now on, consider me back! woot!
lots of birthdays this week! 11th Noah and Joolyaa 12th Jack 14th Katie ...and i'm sure there are more, tell me if i've overlooked anyone today's happenings
we bought valentines-day candy today. prett-y amazing. needless to say, my idea of cutting down on sweets went down the tubes...but i ALMOST lasted 3 whole days this time! tell you what. after the fourteenth, i'll try cutting down again. we'll see how it goes. we worked on our dance-festival piece, i have mixed feeling about it and we're definitely running out of time... also, joni and i had some great IM conversations tonight...like crazy-great. as in joni hilarious great. i love her...
in other news, bayan shaved. and let me end this entry with a word of advice: don't worry! as long as we have cats that shoot lasers out of their eyes, we'll be OK

I like High School. All my classes are pretty easy so far with the exception of Frostick because i have no idea how the guy's brain works. My french class is ridiculously easy. Today "Nous crae un petit livre" about "Qui est l'eleve qui aime danser?" I'm considering running for freshman council...but the elections are soon and i don't know THAT many people.

back in sweden. in order to answer all of the questions that katie asked me after my last entry would take 2 hours to type... Of everything I saw in France, my favorite thing was definitely Le Louvre. Its beautiful...and you know...i saw THE MONA LISA! And the Venus Di Milo and Winged Victory. And that one painting by Jaques-Louis David of Napoleon coronating Josephine...and the one with the shipwreck survivors on the raft...just all these amazing works of art. Actually we saw a ton of art museums...at Le Musee d' Orsay there was stuff by Monet and Van Gogh...just stuff that you never actually think you'll see for real when they are just pictures in a book. We went out to Versailles but the lines were 2 hours long and there was only one working bathroom so we turned around and went back to Saint Germain de Pres which was where out hotel was. Our hotel was called L'Hotel de Angleterre. Former guests include Ernest Hemingway and Thomas Jefferson. It was nice but had that definite old building smell. ...My french. Erm. It went fine. I really only used it to order food and tell people to please move in crowded museums. But that went really well. My dad's french...well, it might not have been pretty, but he got his point across. Example: Shall I put cette bag en le back of the car? I was really suprised at how few people we met who spoke english. In sweden EVERYONE speaks english. But in france they don't even try. All of their movies and TV shows are dubbed into french.
I'll be back in the states Monday...and back in WV monday or tuesday.

[Saturday, August 12th, 2006] |
So; Ive been in france for two days now. Paris is totally different than I imagined it. Its actually fairly quiet and very...quaint. It reminds me a bit of England except a more expensive and with better weather. Ive taken a ton of photos to show when I get back, Ill send some to you Eva. Tons of smartcars here Katie, ive photod some of my favorites for you, unfortunately the leopard spotted one got away before i could get my camera out. Yesterday we saw the Louvre, the Tullieres Gardens and the obelisk of Luxor. The day before we saw the Eiffel Tower, The Arc du Triomph of which we got to clib to the top of, Notre Dame and walked the Champs Elysees. Today we are going to the Musee D Orsay and Les Invalides that our capital in Charleston is modeled after and which holds Napoleons tomb. more later, french keyboards are even weirder than swedish ones.

| Your EQ is 167 | 50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick! 51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese. 71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely. 91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that. 111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt. 131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin. 150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar. |
thanks blogthings.

| You Are An ENFJ | The Giver
You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed. Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections. Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down. You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist. |
